In December 2015, Anna-Louise Bates’s life changed forever.
On a walk home from a Christmas party, her husband and 7 year-old son were struck by a car.
Anna was thrown into a whirlwind of grief and disbelief. The events that followed questioned her deep-seated faith – and all while paparazzi hovered for the story which had hit headlines all over the world.
Life: A Story of Believing is a story of love and belief to change the world for the better, whatever we are faced with.
PROJECT DETAILS
Anna had already had her memoir professionally ghostwritten but traditional publishers turned her book away, saying that ‘she’s already had too much media attention’ and that ‘she doesn’t have enough Instagram followers.’
Taking on the project, I could see that the manuscript needed some editing and ghostwriting in parts to tighten it up.
I then created a front and back cover and self-published the book in Anna’s name.
We tested the book by giving advance copies to readers, who provided their views on what could be improved.
A final version was then completed.
The book was launched in September 2024.
It became an International Best Seller on Amazon the same day.
